How To Remove Shoe Polish Stains From Clothes And Carpets

Shoe polish is used generally for bringing a new life in the shoes. The polish can make the shoes look new and make them to shine. But when it is applied to the shoes there is a danger that the household things like the carpet, walls or even the dress of the person applying the polish can get stained due to it.

Repeat the procedure till no stain remains on the material. Even after doing if the stain persists apply some ammonia on the stain. Now cover the stain with a absorbent pad and a wet dryer. One should understand that ammonia should not be used on silk clothes. Use of ammonia can damage the silk or woolen fabric. After completing this flush the area with water and repeat the procedure if necessary. Allow the area to dry.

In case of stain on the acrylic fabric, Cotton or linen fabric you have to sponge the area with the dry cleaning solvent. There are cleaning solvents like the K2r spot lifter or afta cleaning fluid. On application of these solvents let the area dry for some time. Then use a brush to clean the area. If in this case the stain persists apply the stain with a mixture of powdered detergent, water, and a few drops of ammonia. In this situation you have to place a absorbent pad beneath the stain. If the absorbent pad gets stained use a new one. Repeat the procedure till there is no stain that remains on the material. After the whole thing is done rinse the area with water and let it dry for some time.

In case of a polish stains on the carpet first try to remove it by scraping. If by scraping the stain cannot be removed than apply the stain with a stain remover. After applying the stain remover let it set for some time. After the remover is set on the stain, then blot it with a clean white paper or white cloth. Repeat the procedure till no stain remains on the carpet. This is how shoe polish stains are removed from clothes and carpets.
