If the solution works on a smaller spot then apply it to a larger area. But one has to take care that the cotton is not too wet. Because if it has a larger amount of water content in it, then the cotton itself will create a large number of water stains on the wallpaper and destroy the whole look of the wallpaper.

There are stains due to tannin that come from the wooden frames. These brownish stains can be neutralized by applying water along with 30 % bleach to it. Any time while clearing the stain from the wallpaper you have to first test on a small patch of the wallpaper and then on the whole wallpaper. In case it is a deodorant stain than you have to act upon the stain immediately. You have to wipe the wallpaper by a sponge. Dip this sponge in warm water and then apply it carefully.

If your wallpaper gets stained due to grease or oil you have to wipe it with the dish washing soap. This should be done by dipping the sponge in a solution of dish washing soap and dab it gently on the wallpaper. This is possible only if it is a vinyl wallpaper. See to it that there are no extra spots due to water from the sponge.

When you have wallpapers in you have kitchen they definitely cannot stay new for a long time. This is because it always comes in contact with the food particles and the oil used during cooking. There are no chances of the wallpaper remaining clean in the kitchen. In this case the first thing that you have to do is you have to scrap your wallpaper by a sharp object. After scrapping it with a knife you can clean it with a brush along with a detergent or dish washing soap. This is possible only if it is vinyl wallpaper otherwise not. Then clean it with a clean cloth or paper.
