How To Remove Stains From Silk


Removing stains from silk is difficult thing. Many times our silk dresses waist dew to stains. People use many methods to remove stains, but some stains become permanent. They get irritation with stains. Stains are also from different liquids such as oils, ink, tomato etc. There are different types of silk cloths. Once oily, salad or gravy stains dried, it is very tough to remove them. Apply cornstarch powder or talcum powder into the stains. Wait for at least 20 minutes, and then brush the area gently. Most of the time soft dry brush or dry washcloth brush is used to wash silk cloths. Repeat the same procedure until stains clean. Do not give such cloths to drycleaners.

You can also use paper. Set paper towel below and above the stained area and speed up the brushing. Or use hot steam iron. Before doing this, apply talcum or cornstarch powder. Using papers your silk cloth is safe and secure. Repeat the same method until stains is removed. This simple method and used by many people.

Citrus oil or citrus turbine is best for removing oil, fat, grease and wax stains from silk cloths. CitraSolve turbine are made from natural, steam distilled citrus oils. They are natural solvents. They contains lowest toxicity of solvents therefore they are les harms for cloths. Do not use cornstarch powder. It is because it does not work here properly. Apply the turbine to the stained area. Let it sit 10-15 minutes, set white clean paper towel or white clean cotton towel above and bellow on the treated area and use hot steam iron speedily. The stains will immediately pulled out. Hot or cold water is good for protein-based stains like sweat, body fluids, and blood, and stains of coffee or tea. Use normal soup or detergent. Rinse out it initially with shampoo, soup, or dish liquid in cold water. Still stains remained on the cloths after this procedure, wash the cloth as usual. Oxyclean or other oxygen related bleach could be used to remove stubborn stains from silk cloths. You can use for any kind of cloth except yellow silks. It is very good for old linen cloths.
