How To Remove Ink Stains From Clothing



Ink stain is a common type of stain. It is generally a problem for people working in the offices. The stain may be due to ball point pen or ink pen. The stain may be due to any type of ink color. It may be due to red colored, blue colored, or black colored. Whatever may be the color or type of ink it is very dangerous because it always damages the uniforms or the formal shirts which we use in offices. These dresses are not in large numbers with us. And the most critical thing about the ink stains is that they are of a very small size but are the most prominent. These types of stains are the most difficult to clear out.

Along with these external methods there are some home made methods that help us to remove the ink stains. One home made method to remove the ink stain is that to apply the stain with a hair spray. While applying the hair spray one should notice that the hair spray does not have any other chemicals, oil or conditioners in them. The reason behind this is that these oils and conditioners can cause an extra stain on the fabric which was not present previously.

If the hair spray contains a good amount of alcohol then it is more advantageous. One more method in removing the ink stain is to apply it with a aerosol. After spraying the hair spray scrub the stain gently.

If the ink stain is difficult to remove than in that case washing with a detergent can serve as the best option. There are stain removers like shout, etc that are available that can easily remove the stains. One can also make use of liquid detergents to clean individual spots and rub gently for some time of about 15 to 20 minutes. After doing this rewash the clothes with clean water. This procedure can totally remove the ink stains.

When the ink stain becomes dry it is very difficult to get rid of it. In such cases the ink stain must be first made wet. After doing this we can apply it with alcohol and let it set for some time. Rub gently and then rewash. Some people also use vinegar as the stain remover.

Sometimes these ink stains are also applied with dish washing soaps. But no matter what there are some ink stains that last permanent. They cannot be cleared by the dry cleaners also at times. The only thing one can do in case of the ink stain is to lessen its intensity as soon as it is stained. This is done by constantly applying the hair spray or alcohol and rubbing it. For some hard stains there are cleaners such as the dry erase whiteboard cleaner or water based Goof off2 Cleaner. This can loosen the stain immediately.
